Previously, on April 15, bus route 14, route from Cai Vieng ferry station - Phu Long commune - Hien Hao commune - Xuan Dam commune - Ang Soi junction - Cat Ba town came into operation. Ticket price is 13,000 VND/way, 250,000 VND/month, free for children under 6 years old. Every day the island district has 40 buses, including going and returning.

Hoang Trung Cuong, Vice Chairman of Cat Hai island district, said bus route 14 is part of the plan to reduce congestion for the Got - Cai Vieng ferry. Since opening, each bus has an average of 13 passengers.

For many years now, on the occasion of the 30/4 holiday and the summer weekend, the Got ferry is often congested due to the sudden increase of visitors to Cat Ba Island. On peak occasions, the number of vehicles crossing the ferry is nearly 10,000 units/day, of which nearly 1,300 cars with 4-7 seats. Since 2018, Hai Phong city has restricted cars from crossing ferries at peak hours to reduce congestion.
