See the longest bridge in Vietnam

Before there was a bridge across the sea, guests from Hanoi who wanted to go to Cat Ba had two options: via Hai Phong city and took two ferry trips, or through Quang Ninh and took one ferry. The route to Hai Phong is shorter, but the waiting time for the two ferries is long, while the route to Quang Ninh is longer.

However, when the sea crossing bridge was inaugurated on September 2, visitors only took 5 minutes to move from Hai Phong city to Cat Hai island, then take one more ferry from Got wharf to Cat Ba island. This is supposed to be a quick and short route for travelers from Hanoi.

Tan Vu - Lach Huyen sea bridge has a total length of 5.44km. This is the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam and one of the longest sea-crossing bridges in Southeast Asia.

Previously, to get to Cat Hai island district, you had to take Dinh Vu ferry for 1 hour (only 2 trips, returning in a day). From today, thanks to the sea bridge, it will take less than 30 minutes for everyone.

The bridge belongs to the Tan Vu - Lach Huyen highway project with a total length of 15.63km. The connecting point from the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway (at Tan Vu node) is in Trang Cat ward, Hai An district; The end point is Lach Huyen port port (Hai Phong international gateway port) in Cat Hai district.

In which, the bridge section has a length of 5.44km; section of the path is 10.19km long. Tan Vu - Lach Huyen Bridge is permanently designed with prestressed reinforced concrete, the bridge deck is 16m wide.

Total investment of Tan Vu - Lach Huyen highway project is 11,849 billion VND from Japanese ODA loan and counterpart capital of Vietnam Government.
